4 ResinTech Anion Selective Resins

SIR-100-HP
ResinTech SIR-100-HP is a chloride form
macroporous nitrate selective strong base
anion resin. It has been Gold Seal Certified
by the WQA for use with potable water. Its
unique functionality increases the selectivity
for nitrate and decreases selectivity for
sulfate, often resulting in higher operating
capacity and lower leakage than type 1 or
type 2 anion resins. SIR-100-HP is intended
for the removal of nitrate and/or perchlorate
from otherwise potable water.
NITRATE REMOVAL - ResinTech SIR-100-HP is used
in the chloride form to remove nitrates from potable
water. It has a unique amine functional group that
eliminates the possibility of nitrate dumping. SIR-100HP has reduced affinity for sulfate which provides
high operating capacity and efficient regeneration.
When treating waters with high
hardness the brine dilution and
displacement waters should be
softened and a low hardness salt
used to prevent scaling.

SIR-110-HP
ResinTech SIR-110-HP is a chloride form
perchlorate, nitrate, and PFAS selective gel
strong base anion resin. The HP designation
means it is Gold Seal Certified by the WQA for
use in potable water applications. Its unique
functionality greatly increases the selectivity
for nitrate while greatly decreasing the
interference from sulfate ions. SIR-110-HP is
recommended for the removal of perchlorate,
nitrate, and most PFAS compounds.

PFAS REMOVAL - ResinTech SIR-110-HP can be used
for the removal of various PFAS compounds, including
PFOA and PFOS, from water. Currently, this is a nonregenerable application. Testing has shown it can
remove a wide range of other PFAS species in addition
to these compounds. Ion exchange offers the benefit
of reduced contact times and longer throughputs
vs. conventional activated carbon treatment. An
understanding of the influent water chemistry is
needed for a thorough review. Levels of TOC, VOC,
and individual PFAS compounds are needed in addition
to the basic background water chemistry (chloride,
sulfate, alkalinity, etc.). Any other contaminants that may
be present are also needed to determine the impact
on PFAS removal (uranium, perchlorate, chromate,
arsenic, etc.)
An alternative media to Manganese Greensand for the removal of iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide
with a weight of 27 lbs. per cubic foot. Must be regenerated with potassium permanganate.

Strong Base Anion PFAS Resin, 1 Cu Ft Bag (50 lbs)
SBACR-HP
ResinTech SBACR-HP is an acrylic gel
strong base anion resin in chloride form.
The polymer has an open aliphatic structure
which allows organic anions to exchange
in and out of the resin more easily than
anion resins based on a polystyrene polymer
structure. SBACR-HP is intended for use
for the removal of Tannins and other NOM
(naturally occurring organic matter).
TANNIN REMOVAL - ORGANIC TRAP - ResinTech
SBACR-HP has excellent capacity for tannins and other
naturally occuring organic matter (NOM) which cause
most of the color in potable waters. SBACR-HP removes
these substances and is easily regenerated with sodium
chloride, in the same fashion as a water softener.
Organic trap resins should be regenerated frequently
to prevent the NOM from building up inside the resin
beads and eventually causing fouling. For industrial
applications it is sometimes useful to add a little caustic
to the brine in order to increase capacity and reduce
leakage. Use of chloride form anion resin reduces the
pH of the product water during the early part of the
exhaustion cycle.
