WP-BB SERIES SPUN POLYPROPYLENE FIBER
Pentair Pentek WP-BB Series Cartridges are manufactured in 10" and 20" lengths and in 4.5" diameters
from a durable polypropylene string that is wound around a rigid polypropylene core. The WP-BB
Cartridges are an economical solution to reduce fine sediment including rust, sand and scale particles.
The material in the WP-BB Cartridges is a fibrous polypropylene media wound in a precise pattern
around a polypropylene core, providing greater surface area to maintain high flow rates. The WP-BB
Cartridges are manufactured using an anti-static agent during the winding process to reduce the
electrical charges produced during the winding process.
These string-wound cartridges are capable of withstanding temperatures up to 165°F (73.9°C), and will
accommodate flow rates between 10 and 65 GPM with minimal pressure drop.
WP-BB Series Cartridges are suitable for a wide range of sediment applications including municipal and
well water, and are chemical resistant so they can be used with many industrial fluids.
Note: The anti-static agent used in the WP-BB Cartridges may cause some foaming during start up of a
new cartridge. If foaming is an application issue, we recommend using the WPX-BB Series.

Pentek Pleated Sediment Cartridges
Flow rates shown are nominal for new cartridges. Usage and dirt load will effect capacity. Cartridges
with the suffix “BB” are 4-1/2" in diameter and fit “Big Blue” housings. Case quantities have been
provided for easy ordering.

R SERIES PLEATED POLYESTER
Pentair Pentek R Series Cartridges are manufactured from a durable, non-woven and reusable
polyester fabric that is suitable for a wide range of filtration uses.
The media is pleated around a polypropylene core for added strength. The pleated endcaps of the
standard cartridges are immersed in a thermo-setting vinyl plastisol. The Big Blue cartridges have
a molded endcap with gaskets. The pleated ends are sealed to the endcap with a thermoplastic
adhesive. The overlap seam is sonically welded to reduce internal bypass improving filtration efficiency.
The standard 9.75" length cartridge has more than four square feet of polyester fabric, while the larger
Big Blue version has more than 16 square feet. The media is pleated to maximize dirt holding capacity
and extend the time period between changes or cleaning.
R Series Cartridges are resistant to both bacteria and chemical attack making them suitable for a
variety of residential, commercial and industrial applications.

ECP SERIES PLEATED CELLULOSE POLYESTER
Pentair Pentek ECP Series Cartridges are manufactured from a special formulation of resin-impregnated
cellulose and polyester fibers.
This unique blend of materials provides a higher wet strength than regular cellulose cartridges. It also
provides high flow rates and dirt-holding capacity while maintaining extremely low pressure drop.
The media is pleated around a polypropylene core for added strength. The pleated endcaps of
the standard cartridges are immersed in a thermo-setting vinyl plastisol. The Big Blue cartridges
have a molded endcap with gaskets. The pleated ends are sealed to the endcap with a
thermoplastic adhesive. The overlap seam is sonically welded to reduce internal bypass, improving
filtration efficiency.
ECP Series Cartridge endcaps feature a color-coding system for easy identification of micron ratings:
tan (1 micron), white (5 micron), blue (20 micron), and yellow (50 micron).
