NWS Control Valves must be purchased with a completed softener or filter system. However, controls may
be purchased as a Field Replacement or to retrofit existing equipment only.
Nelsen Signature Series 1.5" Control Valve
The Nelsen Water Solutions Signature Series 1.5" top mount composite control valve is a versatile
control valve designed for residential, commercial, and industrial water treatment applications. It offers
several features and benefits, making it a popular choice among water treatment professionals.
• Flow Rates: The 1.5" control offers a Service flow rate of 70 GPM and a backwash of 52 GPM, allowing
for Softener applications up to 24" diameter tanks.
• Durability: The valve is a epoxy coated brass valve body. This ensures long-term reliability and
resistance to wear and tear, even in harsh water conditions.
• 6 Cycles: Fully adjustable cycle times with 6-cycle control delivers controlled backwash, regenerant
draw, slow rinse, second backwash, fast rinse, refill, and downflow service. The optional double
backwash feature offers optimum regeneration, cleaning ability, and efficiency. It also features a posttreated water regenerant refill.
• Maintenance and Serviceability: The valve is engineered for ease of maintenance and serviceability,
featuring easily accessible internal components and linearly reciprocating piston operation, and singlepiece expanding seal spacer stack assembly, allowing for straightforward troubleshooting, repair, and
replacement when necessary.
• Progressive Flow: Pre-programmed progressive flow eliminates the need for the Clack Controller
• Electronics: A coin cell lithium battery offers backup with an 8-hour carryover. The 15-volt output AC
adapter provides safe and easy installation. Reliable and proven DC drive.
• Meter: Stainless Steel meter assembly

CLACK INLINE 1.5" PLASTIC METER
A glass filled composite plastic 1.5" Inline water meter suited for large residential and commercial
applications provides a service flow range 0.5 to 75 GPM with a meter accuracy of +/- 5%. The meter
uses Clack's proven reliable turbine design and is available with 28" or 15' meter cable options.
The quick connect option is for connecting the meter directly to the control valve.

The Clack MAV (Motorized Alternating Valve) allows for the Control Valve to be configured with No Hard
Water Bypasses, Separate Source regeneration, or Twin Tank Operation. 8 foot communication cable
included with each MAV valve, optional lengths are available.

The fiber-reinforced composite valve provides outlet shutoff and isolation, ensuring no raw untreated
water bypass during regeneration. Handles flow rates of 125 gpm with a 3.5 psi drop (Cv 67.2).
Operating limits within 20-125 psi and 40°F-110°F.
